How I work

“Nobody can go back and make a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending”

Marta Robinson

My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which underpins the way I think about emotional difficulties and therapeutic change. This means I am interested in how past experiences, early relationships and emotional patterns may continue to shape how we feel, relate to others, and respond to challenges in the present.

I offer individual psychotherapy to adults, providing a confidential and reflective space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy. People come with many different concerns — some clearly defined, others more difficult to put into words — and there is no expectation that you arrive with a specific problem, diagnosis or goal.

Rather than working to a fixed model or set of techniques, my approach is integrative and responsive, shaped by each person’s unique history, emotional world and current circumstances. Therapy is a collaborative process, allowing space to notice patterns, develop understanding and reflect on experiences at a depth that feels manageable and meaningful.

Although people often seek therapy for particular difficulties — such as relationship problems, anxiety, depression or eating disorders — these are simply examples. In practice, clients bring a wide range of experiences, including feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain or disconnected, as well as questions about identity, self-esteem or life transitions. All of these are welcome in therapy.

The pages below outline some of the areas I commonly work with. They are intended as a guide rather than a complete list, and you are very welcome to get in touch to talk about whether this way of working might be helpful for you.

What you can expect

Clients often describe me as calm, attentive and thoughtful. My aim is to offer a steady, non-judgemental presence, allowing you to speak openly and feel genuinely heard. Therapy can be short-term or longer-term, depending on what feels most helpful for you.

Whether you choose to attend sessions in person in Hendon or online, I will work with you to create a therapeutic relationship that supports reflection, understanding and meaningful change.
